The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is seeking passionate research assistants from all over the world to assist with SDGs research, as well as writing and editing sustainability reports.
ABOUT THE JOB
- Title of Post: Internship – Sustainable Development Goals Research Assistant
- Region: Remote
- Duration: 6 months (September 2024 – February 2025)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Research Assistant, you will work on bi-weekly mission-based projects regularly checking up via online meetings. Focusing on SDGs initiatives, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conduct research on SDGs implementation in your own country by analyzing Voluntary National Reviews (VNR) and writing a report
- Provide an In-depth comparative analysis of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2025 SDGs priorities – Goal 3 (good health and well-being), 5 (gender equality), 8 (decent work and economic growth),14 (life below water), and 17 (partnerships for the goals)
- Interview youth about SDGs awareness in your country (Questions will be further developed during hybrid meetings with research assistants)
- Investigate the potential collaboration opportunities with WFUNA regarding national SDGs in your country
- Develop a Report and Presentation, which will be uploaded to the official website and Social Network Service of WFUNA and used further in UNA meetings as a representative of your country
WHAT WE OFFER
An exciting SDGs Research Assistant remote position in the WFUNA Seoul offers you significant influence as a representative of your country to analyze the current implementation of SDGs and develop future sustainable initiatives. This is a special opportunity to work from home while collaborating in a multinational environment by interacting with and structuring a project alongside research assistants worldwide. The Research Assistant will receive WFUNA’s official merchandise, business card, and an official certificate of internship upon completion of the agreement.
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS
- Language: Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and your native language
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of UN Sustainable Development Goals and enthusiasm for the mission of WFUNA
- Experience: Relevant educational and project/work background (sustainability, political science, communication, international relations, journalism, statistics, data analysis, etc.) is a significant advantage.
- Professional Skills: Proficiency in research and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Soft Skills: Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work both independently and collaboratively, self-motivated, proactive attitude, innovative approach, and solution-oriented
- Korean language skills are not required.
